Getting started with your kit

Welcome! Here’s how to find your files, open them, and print the parts you want. It takes about five minutes.

1. Find your files

1. Look in your email for a receipt from Gumroad. Check your spam or promotions folder if it isn’t in your inbox.
2. Select the View content button in the receipt. A page opens with your PDF files.
3. Keep that email. Its button always brings you back to your files — including any updated versions.

2. Which file do I need?

• Plain Steps Guide — US Letter — The complete guide · 8.5 × 11 in · for the US and Canada, 117 pages
• Plain Steps Guide — A4 — The complete guide · 210 × 297 mm · for most other countries, 116 pages
• Print & Keep Pack — US Letter — Desk cards and worksheets on their own, for easy reprinting, 10 pages
• Print & Keep Pack — A4 — Desk cards and worksheets on their own, for easy reprinting, 10 pages

Choose US Letter if you live in the US or Canada, and A4 almost anywhere else. Start with the Guide. The Print & Keep Pack has the desk cards and worksheets on their own, so you can reprint them.

3. Open them

• To read without downloading: select Read next to a file on the Gumroad page. It opens right in your browser.
• To save a copy: select Download. On a Windows computer, downloaded files go to your Downloads folder — the kit’s card W07 shows how to find it.
• Searching: in most PDF readers, press Ctrl+F on a computer, or use the search button on a phone or tablet, and type a word like “print” or “bigger”.

4. Print what you need

• You don’t need to print all 117 pages. Good places to start: the desk cards, the cards for things you do often, and the Scam Check.
• In the print window, choose your paper size and set the size to 100% or Actual size if your printer offers it, so nothing is cut off.
• Black-and-white printing works fine — every color label also has a letter or word.
• The desk cards print two to a page: cut along the dashed line.
